We will be starting a series called A LOOK THROUGH TIME contest series There will be 15 looks in the series so will last 15 wks but there will be rules . The rules MUST be followed . This series starts On Monday March 15th & a new Era will start every Mon till the end of the series. W/ each look will be rules & Info about the era your making I want this to be a fun & learning experience for all & going through the info will give u a better understanding on making your look

RULES

1. Always Look At each EXAMPLE before making your look

2. Do your best on going through info giving on each period ( me and my mods work hard coming up w/ the info to help you)

3. Your look has to match the era of that week

4. With voting you can still pick your top 3 but also make sure the look you like is in the era of the week for ex 1700 if player is in a 1800 look in the 1700 era dont vote for a 1800 look on a 1700 look week pick your fav but only according to the theme given

5. Please have your look on time

6. When submitting & voting as always put your name & level in the link

7. No background

Winners will get

1st 2nd & 3ard will have their looks in a special area of the fam site W/Special Back ground & the 1st will also have their look share in the feed w/ name of series & the era of that week

MODERNIZE IT; COMBINE OLD & NEW TOGETHER!

On my EX I used an old elegant top & purse that could be used for the 1800’s era, paired it with sexy shoes & jeans that you would wear now making my 1800’s look modern. So for another EX someone can choose 1950's era, pair that look with what is worn in the 50 years to now making that 1950’s look more hip/modern. So do that with any era that is chosen from 1700-1970

Be creative use what you have learned from the last 15 weeks and all of the era's you have done . Pick from an era from 1700 to 1970 and use a bit from it & modernize it & make a new style - this is the last contest of the series . so its the finals ladies

A little known fact about London, the city officially went through a period called the Gin Craze between 1720-1751. The craze started when Parliament deregulated the distilling trade to deal with a surplus of corn– distillers flooded the market with cheap liquor & all hell broke loose. Fashion's always evolving, changing & going back. Every style & trend keeps coming back at 1 time or the other. During all these times, it was the royal courts that dictated fashion. Aristocratic people dressed elaborately & stylishly. Poor could not afford to change their clothes according to the whims of fashion. Clothes made of natural fibers was the material of choice for the majority, while the rich flaunted their wealth in form of clothes & accessories. Clothes were used to separate people into groups. Whenever there is a fashion trend there's a tendency to oppose it. A style then develops that completely changes the previous 1. For the corset there was a flapper & for the princess gowns there was a punk. Today everyone wants to be unique, where once people wanted to look alike. Fashion has evolved– from being a response to cultural changes to being a reflection of a person’s individuality. Social ‘conformation’ is no longer the goal of fashion. 1 thing is common through the centuries & holds still to this day– those with wealth & influence continue to hold the power to influence the course of fashion. Earlier it was the royals, today it's the celebrities & big brands.
